A little bit of crazy

Things are picking up in the crazy department all the time around here.

Mike applied to a few graduate programs months ago and we've come to a decision on where we'll be going come September: Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna. As in Italy. As in across the Atlantic Ocean.

Yes it's far, but it's only for a little while and I'm getting more and more excited all the time about the opportunity to be abroad for 9ish months (Hey! I could have another baby in that time!!*)

It came about like this: Mike was working on his applications in bed late one night while I was reading and staring at my ever-burgeoning belly. He asked, "Should I check the box to be considered for their Italy program?" and I giggled out something like, "SURE! WHY NOT?! Italy? I'd love to go!!" One little click on an online application . . .

and now we are going.

Like I said, crazy.

I sent in Ada's passport application (I'll post her awesome photo soon) a week ago so we could get it back in time to get our Visas. And I booked our flights two days ago.

CRAZY.

The second year of studies is in Washington DC. It makes me happy to think we'll be heading back to our old stomping grounds in a year or so.

*This is neither an announcement, nor a prediction. Merely an observation.

Let me know if you need help finding an apartment or anything. And I know I already said this.. But it's a 3 hour train ride. 3 HOURS. I can't believe it.

ITALY! you will absolutely looooooove it. i am here to tell you, there will be inconveniences i am sure, but you will love the culture, food, and most of all the colors! paige, italy is like looking through a camera on the "warm" setting. your little artist heart will be sufficiently full i am sure of it. i am so jealous!
